General description of incident

Effect on GoTriangle operations

At the site of a serious incident, media access and movement may be restricted by law enforcement or medical personnel to allow a safe and orderly response.

If the incident warrants, the Communications Office may distribute an advisory designating a media staging area. Media identification will be required for access to the area and/or to the incident site. A representative will be located at the staging area to assist media.

In the event of a serious incident, media can reach the Communications Office (919.485.7434) during regular business hours (9:00 AM to 6:00 PM). After hours on weekdays or on weekends, media may call GoTriangle Customer Service (919.485.RIDE) and ask the Customer Service representative to get in contact with the Communications staffer on call.

For emergencies or events taking place on our property, but not related to GoTriangle's operations, the Communications Office will endeavor to assist that agency with the dissemination of information as necessary.

In some cases, the formal report will be filed by public service agency such as law enforcement, fire, or EMS. GoTriangle’s internal investigation may take days or even weeks. Media may be directed to obtain a copy of the report from law enforcement, fire or EMS as part of their information gathering.

Public Meetings

We welcome you to observe the meetings of our Board of Trustees and their committee meetings that are open to the public. You may film and/or record these meetings. We will gladly assist you with placement of cameras and microphones as needed.
